17.18 gms. HGC-4, 1597; Kroll-8. Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena right; Reverse: Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent to left; all within incuse square. Save foir a minor planchet flaw on the obverse, Athena's head is fully struck and full of wonderful detail. The reverse strike is bold and perfectly centered, giving the owl impressive definition. The surfaces are both lightly tarnished and full of vibrance, and it is sure to be an example that will enhance any high value ancient collection.
