RIC-115a; Banti-9. An EXTREMELY RARE Double denomination. It is unsure why Decius minted such a large denomination in bronze, and in an apparent abundance for a medallion. Perhaps it was issued as tribute coinage, or as an emergency issue to pay mercenaries. The coin is flawless, with an honest wear and dark brown patina. The surfaces are near EF, and both the obverse and reverse have an exceptional strike.
