3.16 gms. Cr-480/10. Obverse: Wreathed head, right; Reverse: Venus Victrix standing left holding victory. Minted a mere two months before he was killed by his own senators. A rare and exceptional coin, with a pleasing patina and beautiful portrait of Caesar. Perhaps the coin that led to the demise of Julius Caesar, featuring the legend: DICTATOR PERPETUO or "Dictator for life" it was an unpopular coin with the Roman senators of the time who would go on to assassinate the Dictator. Glossy surfaces with subtle toning and a strong strike: this example truly will bring a lot of attention. An attractive and well-struck example. Golden hues can be seen in the fields covered by a brownish color of pure originality. Minor banker's marks add to the history of the specimen and do not detract from the beauty of the coin.
